Welcome to
St. Paul's Anglican Church
Located in the lakeside village of Westport, St. Paul's Anglican Church has served as a place of worship and social connection for local residents, farmers, and the surrounding rural community since 1891.
Kindness is our foundation - Westport is our community!

Our heritage church, built in the Gothic Revival style, features a large memorial stained glass window in the sanctuary, along with twelve lancet windows edged in coloured glass that flood the nave with natural light. Carved pews and an open-beamed wooden ceiling complete the warm and inviting interior.
Services at St. Paul's are held year-round and include both Holy Communion and Morning Prayer from the Anglican tradition, accompanied by live piano music and congregational hymn singing. St. Paul's remains a rare example of a historic village church that continues to support an active and welcoming congregation.
Whether you are a lifelong resident of Rideau Lakes area, or a weekend visitor, you are welcome here! Expect
a welcoming environment where people come as they are. After worship, you're invited to enjoy coffee and friendly conversation in our church hall.

Worship & Music
Worship at St. Paul’s follows the rich traditions of the Anglican Church of Canada, guided by the liturgy of the Book of Alternative Service.
Music is a central part of worship at St. Paul’s. Each service includes hymns, sung by the congregation and accompanied by piano music. Arrive a few minutes early and you’ll be welcomed by a quiet piano prelude, performed by our talented Music Director.
Upon entering St. Paul’s from either Spring Street or George Street, you will be warmly greeted and handed a Sunday Bulletin that includes everything you need to follow the order of worship.
Children are always welcome at St. Paul’s and are invited to take part in our worship services. If parents or caregivers need a short break during the service, our Church Hall is open and equipped with colouring pages and crayons. St. Paul’s is also accessible for those with mobility challenges. A wheelchair-accessible elevator lift is available adjacent to a designated mobility parking space in the George Street parking lot, ensuring everyone can enter and participate comfortably.
Community & Congregation Life
St. Paul’s is home to a friendly and welcoming congregation where newcomers are always warmly received. Whether you’re visiting, new to the area, or looking for a church community to call home, you’ll find many opportunities to connect, contribute, and enjoy fellowship with neighbours from across Westport and the surrounding countryside.

CONNECTIONS
After each Sunday service, everyone is invited to a coffee time in the Church Hall, where refreshments—often including sandwiches and home baking—are served. It’s a time to relax, meet new friends, and share in conversation.
OUTREACH

St. Paul’s is also committed to serving the wider Westport community. Volunteers help provide a free hot lunch in our Church Hall, welcoming anyone in the village who might enjoy a meal and a friendly atmosphere.

FUN EVENTS
Our congregation hosts a variety of events that bring people together in joyful community spirit. In the past year, we’ve held two popular murder mystery evenings at The Cove Country Inn, along with a community yard sale, BBQ, and a Plant Sale.

VOLUNTEERING
There are many ways to get involved in the life of the church—from serving on the altar guild or as a church warden, to helping maintain our heritage building and gardens, assisting with church administration, and planning fun social events.
